Need your senior managers to progress? Our Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship Programme is the answer. It’s specifically designed for those in senior or second line management positions who have a strong desire to move into leadership roles, allowing them to acquire and hone the skills necessary to become the thriving leaders of tomorrow.
This programme builds on the Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship modules, and dives into much deeper detail around the topics. It’s perfect for more strategic roles, as individuals can apply the methodology and implement new, innovative processes and thinking. A core part of our dynamic, blended programmes includes influencing senior stakeholders, as we understand how crucial this is to levelling up senior managers.
We’re listed on the Approved Provider and Assessment Register (APAR), which means we know a thing or two about helping you get the most out of an apprenticeship. We’ll work closely with you to identify the necessary skills development, as well as refine the content to meet the needs of your business. With our blended programmes facilitated by specialist coaches, trainers and tutors, learners can sharpen their performance and accelerate their careers.
Our programmes use a blended learning model that’s powered by our apprenticeship delivery platform, Aptem. You can expect:
Interactive workshops that are held both face-to-face and virtually.
Online coaching sessions that provide support on an individual level.
Enhanced eLearning content via engaging modules and skills development activities.
Our learning is tailored to the needs of your business, your people, and their locations. That’s why we offer it virtually, in person, or as a mixture of the two – whatever suits you. In terms of online education, our ePortfolio system (Aptem) provides every learner with a comprehensive programme where they can develop their knowledge, capabilities and behaviours. This will help them to become a confident senior manager, and thrive in their end-point assessment.

Operations managers play a vital role in leading teams and collaborating with senior managers to achieve organisational goals. They provide clear leadership and manage both operational and project responsibilities, ensuring that teams operate efficiently and align with legislation and company policies.
Key responsibilities include setting and monitoring objectives, managing resources, developing team members, and fostering internal and external relationships. They interact with various departments, such as HR, finance, and sales, as well as external stakeholders like clients and suppliers.
Adaptable to diverse environments, operation managers work within budgets, analyse data to improve efficiencies, and support strategic objectives. They uphold legal, ethical, and sustainability standards while promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion. Their ability to influence decisions and ensure smooth departmental operations makes them indispensable to organisations of all sizes and sectors.
We’ll work with you to create a bespoke programme. This can include your own training content, vision and values, language, and terminology. Our solutions are flexible and focused on results.
What’s right for one client may not be the best approach for your people, so we’ll work together to determine the best design of your programme to maximise the results.
The structure of the programme has been designed to support the transfer of learning back into the workplace, giving learners ample opportunity to develop and practice their management and leadership skills, whilst supported by a professional trainer and dedicated development coach, culminating in an Ofqual-accredited qualification.
The duration of this apprenticeship is typically 18 months plus EPA.
A minimum average of six hours per week is required to obtain new know-how, skills and behaviours relating to the standard, as well as what’s applicable to their role.
The programme incorporates facilitator-led virtual or physical classroom training, eLearning, 1-2-1 coaching, and a variety of activities to help embed the knowledge into learners’ roles and businesses.
The learner must attain functional skills in maths and English Level 2 before EPA.
Upon completing the Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship, learners gain professional recognition that sets them apart in their field. The programme aligns with industry standards, offering eligibility for memberships such as the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) or the Institute of Leadership. This recognition not only validates their expertise but also enhances their professional credibility and career progression opportunities.
The EPA period is 4 months, in which two assessment methods must be passed for the learner to successfully achieve their qualification. This includes a project with report & presentation and a professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.
Conducted by an independent body selected by the employer, the end point assessment is the culmination of the 18-month training period.
The EPA is an opportunity for the learner to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours they have acquired throughout the programme through a series of assessed activities.
This includes a project with report & presentation and a professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.
The outcome is either a pass or distinction.
