Role: Learner Support Assistant

We are looking a dynamic person to join our team as a Learner Support Assistant. This role will report into the Head of Quality and Curriculum, and will work closely with our Development Coaches to provide necessary adjustments and provide high-quality learning support to apprentices with diverse needs.

Primary objectives

· Work closely with the Development Coaches to provide targeted support to apprentices who require additional learning support.

· Deliver support through 1:1 sessions, small group interactions, and remote online classroom environments.

· Co-ordinate and document detailed records of adjustments provided to support the compliance process for Learning Support Funding (LSF).

· Conduct initial assessments to identify learners who may require additional support.

· Prepare and submit evidence to support Learning Support Funding claims.

· Monitor and review the effectiveness of support provided through LSF.

· Adopt innovative strategies to empower learners and promote independent learning.

· Support the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of apprentices.

· Assist apprentices in maximizing their skills, abilities, and potential.

· Develop tools and strategies to help apprentices develop confidence and overcome learning barriers.

· In liaison with the Quality and MIS teams collect, record, and analyse learner progress data

· Any other duties consistent with the grade and purpose of the job role.

· Have a comprehensive understanding of the nuances of the apprenticeship sector and strive to keep up to date with changes and developments, being passionate about education and developing people.

· To undertake any other duties consistent with the role, including, possible national travel and minimal overnight stays.

· To promote genuine equality, diversity and well-being in all aspects of apprenticeship delivery and take responsibility for the health, safety and safeguarding activities applicable to the role as set out in the organisation’s policy statements.

Essential Qualifications

· Experience supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

· Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy.

· IT skills appropriate to support learners remotely.

· Knowledge of inclusive educational practices and techniques.

Additional Requirements

· Understanding of apprenticeship funding rules and Learning Support Funding processes.

· Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

· Willingness to attend training and professional development sessions

· Willingness to work to work towards a qualification in specific learning difficulties/disabilities.
